Performance scores
A 2022 Elite x360 830 G9 convertible with maxed-out RAM and integrated graphics
The HP Elite x360 830 G9 (2022) is a premium business convertible built around an Intel Core i7 1265U with 64 GB of RAM, landing at $430 — slightly above the convertible-class median of about $356. Its genuine strengths are memory (64 GB, 100% above the median, "pro" level) and reliability (63, top quartile); the honest constraint is integrated-only graphics, which limits creative and gaming use.
Pro-tier memory and solid reliability in a 2-in-1 form factor
The i7 1265U is a recent 12th-gen processor with 10 cores (2P+8E), and 64 GB of RAM at a "pro" level is genuine headroom for memory-bound office and developer workflows — rare in a 2-in-1 form factor. Reliability at 63 places in the top quartile, which matters for a work machine, and the Elite x360 build quality is a strength.
Integrated graphics are the ceiling
The weak spot by level is graphics performance: there is no discrete GPU, so this is a machine for everyday media and office work, not for gaming or GPU-accelerated creative tasks. The strong memory is wasted on anyone who needs GPU power, so the value proposition depends on the workload.
Steeper depreciation, typical of a recent convertible
From a base near $1500, the laptop has depreciated to $430 at roughly 12% per year, with a projected value around $333 in two years. The curve is steeper than consumer convertibles, reflecting the premium-segment starting price.
Sits between pricier and cheaper convertibles
Slightly pricier options include the Lenovo ThinkPad X1 Yoga Gen 6 ($471) and HP Envy 15-ey0013dx ($471); cheaper alternatives include the HP Pavilion x360 14m-dy1033dx Gold ($372) and Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5 14ALC7 ($395).
Bottom line
The Elite x360 830 G9 is a fair pick for a memory-bound office user or developer who specifically wants a premium 2-in-1 form factor with strong reliability. Graphics are an honest constraint — buyers who need GPU power should look at a dGPU-equipped alternative, since the iGPU-only config is the one real ceiling.
