Dell G3 3590 review

The budget esports ticket with a full green sheet

Dell's G3 3590 (2019) lists at $471 — 37% below the gaming-class median of $749.56. For that money it delivers a quad-core i5-9300H, a GTX 1050 with 3GB and a remarkable 64GB of RAM. The graphics score of 31.34 sits 60% below the class median — the honest ceiling of this machine — yet the measured flags are fully green at the recommended level for Overwatch, GTA V and Rainbow Six Siege. Reliability at 24 against 53 is the quiet caveat.

What $471 buys that still matters

Three recommended-level passes in the measured titles plus a 64GB memory pool that embarrasses machines costing twice as much. For competitive 1080p titles and esports, the 1050's measured receipts are legitimate: the flags, not the score, are the verdict. VS Code clears its minimum comfortably on the quad-core.

The honest costs

Graphics at 31.34 versus a 78.49 class median means anything beyond the measured light titles will pinch quickly — this is not a modern AAA machine at any settings. Reliability at 24/53 is the second flag: a six-year-old budget chassis carries its age in hinges, fans and battery cells. Both are priced in, but both are real.

Price trajectory

From an $1,800 anchor to $471 today, an 11.29% annual rate projecting $371 in two years — a 21.31% drop. The steepest part of the curve is behind it; from here the machine loses dollars slowly.

Against its neighbors

Upward, Lenovo's IdeaPad Gaming L340 at $499 and Dell's own Alienware 15 R3 at $509. Downward, the XPS 15 9560 at $422 and Inspiron 15-5577 at $447. The G3's pitch against them is simple: newest chassis of the group with the biggest memory pool, at the cost of the weakest graphics placing.

Bottom line

A budget-friendly pick for esports and schoolwork with a 64GB memory surprise inside. Buy it for the green flags and the price; skip it if your ambitions include modern AAA titles or long-term longevity odds.
