HP OmniBook X Flip 16" review

HP OmniBook X Flip 16 (2025) Review: The Big Canvas, Same Missing Paint

The OmniBook X Flip 16 is the 16-inch sibling of HP's 2025 premium X Flip convertible: the same Intel Core Ultra 5 226V with Arc 130V graphics and 32 GB of memory, at the same $1,275. Everything said about the 14-inch platform applies here — the panel is simply bigger, and the carry penalty is real.

Where it holds up

Processor performance scores 87.88, 47.4 percent above the convertible-class median of 59.6 and in the enthusiast band, with reliability at 88 — a 79.6 percent margin over the class. Office work holds 84.85 in the high band, overall performance sits mid at 46.93, and value at 49.55 is mid-band, fair for a premium convertible. The 16-inch canvas is the actual product here: tablet sketching, split documents and media all gain from the real estate, backed by top-quartile silicon.

Where it falls short

The graphics column reads zero — a coverage gap rather than a measured zero; no matched score exists for the Arc 130V stack. The measured GPU-fed axes sit uniformly low: gaming at 19, modeling at 25, engineering CAD at 30 and photo design at 24. Portability drops to 40.3, mid-band — the direct cost of the 16-inch frame over the 14's 71.9 — so the machine trades carry for canvas.

Price and depreciation

At $1,275 this matches its 14-inch twin exactly. The modeled depreciation curve runs at 15 percent per year — steep for the segment — and no listing anchor is available for dollar projections.

Alternatives to consider

The OmniBook X Flip 14 (2025) is the same machine at the same price with portability of 71.9 against 40.3 — the rational default unless the 16-inch panel is the point. The OmniBook 7 Flip 16 (2025), also $1,275, offers a stronger 83.94 processor score in the same size class, with the same empty graphics column. The OmniBook X Flip 16 (2026) at $1,500 moves to the 4-core Xe3 and lifts gaming from 19 to 75 and photo design from 24 to 76.

Bottom line

Fairly priced for the class. The OmniBook X Flip 16 is a big-canvas writing and office convertible with enthusiast silicon and top-quartile reliability — held back only by its unscored graphics and a mid-band carry.
