HP OmniBook 7 14 (2026) Review: Premium Badge, Balanced Sheet
The OmniBook 7 14 is the 2026 expression of HP's premium ultrabook line: an Intel Core Ultra 5 325 with 4-core Xe3 graphics and 32 GB of memory at $1,400. It runs the same balanced playbook as its OmniBook 5 sibling with a slightly different axis mix — and like that machine, it refuses to post a single weak number.
Where it holds up
The graphics score of 45.85 sits 1094 percent above the ultrabook-class median of 3.84 in the mainstream band, and the axes cash it in: gaming at 75 in the high band, photo design at 76 also high, office work at 84.85 high. Portability reads 71 in the high band — the strongest showing among the 2026 OmniBook configurations here — and overall performance holds at 56.02 in the top quartile with reliability at 70, up 37.3 percent on the class. Overwatch, Grand Theft Auto V and Rainbow Six Siege all clear their recommended bars; Photoshop and Visual Studio Code both pass.
Where it falls short
No weakness is flagged for this configuration, and the sheet backs the claim: no axis in this sheet drops into the low band. The softest reading is value at 35.5, barely clear of the low band — the honest objection is that $1,400 buys mainstream-tier processor performance behind a premium badge, with modeling and engineering CAD at 53 both merely mid.
Price and depreciation
At $1,400 the OmniBook 7 14 prices level with every 2026 OmniBook in this batch regardless of size or silicon. As a 2026 release no depreciation curve is modeled yet, so no second-hand anchor exists.
Alternatives to consider
The OmniBook 5 14 (2026) at the same $1,400 swaps to the 2-core Xe3 and actually posts the higher photo design reading, 87 against 76 — the premium badge buys little measurable difference here. The OmniBook 7 16 (2026) adds an RTX 5050 at the same price but concedes 38.2 portability against 71. Cheaper in every sense, the OmniBook 3 15.6 (2025) at $1,232 delivers high-band office and photo work on AMD silicon, with gaming at 30 instead of 75.
Bottom line
Fairly priced for the class. The OmniBook 7 14 is a high-band everything machine — gaming, photo, office, portability — whose only real weakness is the price premium its balanced sheet is asked to carry.
