Lenovo Yoga Slim 6i Gen 8 (14") review

Lenovo Yoga Slim 6i Gen 8 (14″, 2023) — the quiet mid-ranker with nothing to flag

The Yoga Slim 6i Gen 8 at $921 is a compact 2023 convertible on the Intel Core i5 1340P. No single strength is flagged by the verdict engine — the machine trades without a headline — while the flagged weakness is the composite score at 32, 30% below the convertible-class median of 46. The story lives in the axis sheet, not the flags.

Where it holds up

Office productivity at 88.21 — top band — is the strongest absolute axis on the sheet, the platform's core promise. Portability follows at 74 (high), and photo design reads mid at 37 for screen-first work. For a documents-and-media convertible the profile is coherent: strong where it counts, quiet elsewhere.

Where it falls short

The composite score at 32 is the honest flag, and the low bands explain it: overall performance reads 28.31, gaming 23, 3D modeling 27 and engineering CAD 30 — all low band. Value at 18.55 (low) is the sharper edge: $921 for a mid-tier 2023 platform with no standout axis is a price the sheet does not fully back.

Price and depreciation

No depreciation anchor is recorded (base $0); no curve or projection applies. The 2023 cohort rate is 12.87% per year — a modern slope still working through its steep half.

Alternatives to consider

The Yoga 7 Gen 8 (14″ AMD) at the same $921 posts a 32.85 graphics score with photo design at 81. The Yoga Slim 7 14″ (AMD) at $921 adds an 88.26 office reading with a 70.8 portability figure. The Gram 2-in-1 14 at $921 is the LG route to the same format with a 72 Wh battery.

Bottom line

Fairly priced for the class. A no-headline office convertible: office 88.21 tops the sheet while the composite reads 32 — solid for the brief, value 18.55 the honest cost of a quiet spec at $921.
