Performance scores
Lenovo LOQ Essential Gen 9 (15" Intel) (2024) — the entry-current LOQ cut
The LOQ Essential Gen 9 at $1,152 pairs an Intel Core i5 12450HX with a GeForce RTX 2050 (4 GB) and 32 GB of RAM. The flagged strength is mobility at 42 — 44.8% above the gaming-class median of 29 — The flagged weakness is memory: 32 GB against the class's 64 GB median, with the composite score at 54 (-28% below median) in the highlights.
Where it holds up
Photo design reads 49 (mid), gaming 56 (mid) and office 76.09 (high); the RTX 2050 clears the recommended bar for Overwatch, Grand Theft Auto V and Rainbow Six Siege, and the Visual Studio Code minimum is met. Portability posts 46.9 (mid) — the best carry reading of the batch's LOQ cuts — and overall performance lands at 58.25 (mid).
Where it falls short
The 32 GB ceiling and the composite 54 are the flagged gaps, and the low bands are wide: modeling reads 33 and engineering CAD 33, with the value index at 27.95 — the sheet's weakest axis. The RTX 2050 is entry-tier silicon for a 2024 cohort price, and photo design stays mid against the shelf's stronger panels.
Price and depreciation
No depreciation anchor is recorded (base $0); no curve or projection applies. The 2024 cohort rate is 18% per year — the steep early-mid band of a recent gaming tier.
Alternatives to consider
The Lenovo LOQ 15IAX9 at the same $1,152 pairs the 3050 class with reliability flagged; the Gigabyte G6X 2024 at $1,152 brings office 87.4 (top); and the Lenovo LOQ 15APH8 at $922 is the value-tier route at $230 less.
Bottom line
Fairly priced for the class. The carry-easiest LOQ (portability 46.9, mobility 42) with cleared gaming bars — with modeling 33, CAD 33 and value 27.95 pricing the entry cut honestly.
