Performance scores
Lenovo LOQ 15IAX9 (2024) — the compact current-LOQ with a mid sheet
The LOQ 15IAX9 at $1,152 pairs an eight-core Intel Core i5 12450H with a GeForce RTX 3050 (6 GB) and 32 GB of RAM. The flagged strength is reliability at 62 — 17% above the gaming-class median of 53 (mid band). The flagged weakness is memory: 32 GB against the class's 64 GB median, with the composite score 24% below median and CPU performance at 50.18 (-22.8%) alongside.
Where it holds up
Office productivity posts 76.09 (high) and gaming reads 63 (mid) with photo design at 52 (mid); the recommended bar is cleared for Overwatch, Grand Theft Auto V and Rainbow Six Siege, and the Visual Studio Code minimum is met. Overall performance lands at 62.22 (mid) and the modeling/CAD pair at 36 (mid) — a mid-band sheet without a peak.
Where it falls short
The 32 GB ceiling is the flagged gap, the composite score sits 24% below the class median, and the value index reads 29.75 (low): a 2024-cohort price on 2022-class silicon. Portability at 28.6 (low) adds the usual chassis tax, and the CPU runs well below its class median.
Price and depreciation
No depreciation anchor is recorded (base $0); no curve or projection applies. The 2024 cohort rate is 18% per year — the steep early-mid band of a recent gaming tier.
Alternatives to consider
The Lenovo LOQ 15IRX9 at the same $1,152 is the stronger sheet on the same chip family (performance 85.13 top, value 71.3 high); the Gigabyte G6X 2024 at $1,152 offers reliability 87; and the Lenovo LOQ 15APH8 at $922 is the value-tier fallback at $230 less.
Bottom line
Fairly priced for the class. The compact current-LOQ with high-band office and cleared gaming bars — with value 29.75 (low) and the below-median CPU as the honest terms of the entry cut.
