Lenovo Pro 9i Aura Edition (16") review

Lenovo Pro 9i Aura Edition (16") (2026) — the 64 GB all-rounder with a 92 Wh tank

The Pro 9i Aura Edition at $900 is the batch's quiet current-generation deal: an Intel Core Ultra 7 356H, a GeForce RTX 5050 (8 GB) and 64 GB of RAM. The flagged strength is memory — double the general-class median — with battery at 92.2 Wh (+92.1%) and graphics at 50.28 (+84.6%) alongside. No weakness is flagged, and the sheet earns it: there is no low-band axis anywhere.

Where it holds up

Office productivity posts 91.91 (top) and photo design 87 (top), with gaming at 79 (high) on the RTX 5050 — the recommended bar is cleared for Overwatch, Grand Theft Auto V and Rainbow Six Siege, and Photoshop and Visual Studio Code minimums are met. Overall performance reads 64.86 (mid), modeling and CAD 54 (mid), portability 39.7 (mid) and value 48.5 (mid) — mid or better across every indexed axis.

Where it falls short

Nothing lands in the low band — the closest costs are middling readings: portability 39.7 and the modeling/CAD pair at 54 reflect a 16-inch RTX body rather than a true creator rig. At 92.2 Wh the battery tank adds carry weight the portability index registers.

Price and depreciation

No depreciation anchor is recorded (base $0); no curve or projection applies. The 2026 cohort rate is 0% per year — no cohort history yet; full first-year price exposure with no curve to lean on.

Alternatives to consider

The Lenovo LOQ 16APH8 at $922 pairs an older RTX 3050 with a top-band value sheet (77.5); the Gigabyte Aorus 17X at $922 is the raw-performance route (89.55, top); and the LOQ 15IRX9 at $1,152 adds the current Intel platform at a higher tier.

Bottom line

Fairly priced for the class. The no-weak-spot all-rounder of the general shelf: 64 GB, a 92.2 Wh tank, top-band office and photo with a mid-floor everywhere — no low-band axis anywhere on the card.
