Performance scores
MSI VenturePro A16 AI+ (A3HW) (2025) — the Venture that went and got a real GPU
The VenturePro A16 AI+ at $1,232 is the discrete-GPU version of the Venture platform: a Ryzen AI 5 340 with a GeForce RTX 5050 (8 GB) and 96 GB of RAM. The flagged strengths are graphics performance at 50.28 (more than thirteen times the ultrabook-class median), the 96 GB memory ceiling, and performance at 74.88; the flagged weakness is weight at 1.9 kg, 30.1% above typical.
Where it holds up
The RTX 5050 lifts the whole sheet: photo design 87 (top), engineering CAD 70 (high), gaming 79 (high), with AutoCAD clearing its minimum bar — the only machine on this shelf with a CAD verdict that data supports. Overwatch, Grand Theft Auto V and Rainbow Six Siege clear their recommended bars, the 96 GB ceiling triples the class median, and value posts 61.85 (mid).
Where it falls short
Weight is the flagged weakness (1.9 kg, standard-class), portability sits mid at 39.7, and modeling reads 54 (mid) — the CPU side of the platform is the gate, not the card. This is a working hybrid, not a gaming flagship.
Price and depreciation
No depreciation anchor is recorded (base $0); no curve or projection applies. The 2025 cohort rate is 12% per year for this class.
Alternatives to consider
The Venture A16 AI+ at the same $1,232 is this chassis without the 5050; the Galaxy Book 6 Ultra at $1,400 steps up to an RTX 5060 (graphics 69.57) with photo design 90 if the budget stretches a seventh.
Bottom line
Fairly priced for the class. The CAD-capable Venture: a real 5050 and 96 GB under a 1.9 kg lid — the machine this shelf's buyers upgrade to when integrated graphics run out. Portability at 39.7 (mid) matches the non-Pro Venture on the same chassis at the same price.
