Performance scores
Aspire 7 (2024): the 1650 formula with top-band photo design
The A715-76G build of Acer's Aspire 7 (2024, $650) runs an i5-12450H with the familiar GTX 1650 4GB and 16GB of RAM. Graphics hold at 63.1 high — double the category median — while reliability steps up to 76 high and photo design leaps to 90 in the top band, the best reading of the three Aspire 7 generations.
The matured formula
Performance 52.72 mid, office 79.74 high, gaming 57 mid, modeling 57 and CAD 57 mid — a consistent mid-plus grid. The recommended checks pass for Overwatch, GTA V, Rainbow Six Siege and Photoshop minimum. Two years old at a 13.89% class rate places this listing mid-curve on depreciation.
The caps carried forward
Memory stays at 16GB, half the category median — the flagged weakness, unchanged since 2021. Portability reads 37 mid, the same carry story as the 2023 build. Value sits mid at 56.55; the GPU tier is frozen at GTX-1650-class, so the newer money buys platform freshness, not capability.
No depreciation anchor
No anchored price history backs this listing. Class rate 13.89% per year at two years old — the strongest remaining depreciation sits ahead.
Against its alternatives
The 2021 A715-42G asks $251 less with the same 63.1 graphics reading and a 72.3-high value line. The 2024 A715-79G at the same $650 swaps to an RTX 2050 with 32GB of RAM — the newer-GPU-plus-more-memory direction at identical money. This listing is the conservative middle of the Aspire 7 line.
Bottom line
The Aspire 7 at its most polished: photo design 90 top, reliability 76 high, the proven 63.1-high GTX capability, $650. The 16GB ceiling and the frozen GPU tier are the terms — if either bothers you, the same-price 2050 sibling or the cheaper 2021 build answers directly.
