Performance scores
Seventeen inches of 2021 value
The 2021 TUF Gaming A17 FA706 puts a six-core Ryzen 5 5600H, an RTX 3060 with 6 GB, and 32 GB of RAM behind a 17-inch panel at $590. The verdict names the 90 Wh huge-tier battery as the strength and the 32 GB memory as the flagged weakness against the gaming-shelf median of 64.
The body is the story the indexes tell: mobility 16 against a class median of 29, and the portability index at 8, the bottom band — the standing tax of the format. What the size buys is the rest of the sheet: photo and design 96 top, office 84.85 high, general performance 72.04 high, gaming 73 high, value 80.15 high. The task-creative axes sit mid at 59.
A measured receipt on the sheet
Overwatch, Grand Theft Auto V — recommended, with a measured 140 — and Rainbow Six Siege clear their bars; Photoshop and Visual Studio Code clear minimums. The 3060 at this ticket is the confirmed tier.
Depreciation math
The anchor reads 13.44% yearly with no base price attached. Five years in, the value index of 80.15 prices the age honestly for a desk-first machine.
Who should buy it
The buyer with a fixed desk and a $590 budget: the biggest screen, a confirmed 3060, and a huge battery. The portability floor is the format's price, paid knowingly.
Bottom line: photo 96 top, office 84.85 high, performance 72.04 high, gaming 73 high, value 80.15 high — the platform's numbers repeat at the 17-inch size, with Grand Theft Auto V carrying a measured 140 on its recommended receipt. The portability index at 8 low is the bottom-band cost of the format; the 32 GB memory flag is the family trade. Five years of a 13.44% curve have brought a full-memory 3060 machine to $590 — the desk-first buyer's arithmetic, already done, with the receipts attached.
