The Samsung Galaxy A02 is a 2021 entry phone reduced to the true essentials: a MediaTek MT6739 chip, a 6.5-inch 60 Hz LCD and a 5000 mAh battery in a 206-gram body, launched near $100 for the 2/32 GB trim. Our catalog scores it 12 on the everyday axis and 18 on screen, and used examples now ask around $28 to $45. This is a spare-line and communication device first, and its natural comparisons in our catalog are the newer Galaxy A05 and Galaxy A06, which carry the same brief with far newer internals.

Display and design

The 6.5-inch IPS LCD refreshes at 60 Hz with an uncataloged peak brightness, which in practice means indoor use is fine and direct sun is a struggle. For anything more, the Galaxy A05 or A06 at slightly higher used prices are dramatically better buys.
