It launched at $600; 12/256 GB units now sell for around $229 with a five-sale sample — the cheapest 120 Hz OnePlus with modern-charging heritage in the catalog, on ended software support.
Display and design
The 6.55-inch OLED refreshes at 120 Hz with a 760-nit peak — screen quality 60/100 on our axis — in a 188 g flat-glass body with compactness at 87/100. A formal IP rating is absent, a known economy of this generation.
Performance
The Snapdragon 865 remains a polite performer: gaming 18/100 with settings care, everyday responsiveness 66/100. For a sub-$250 purchase the experience floor stays even — the 865 was a well-balanced chip.
Camera
The camera array leads with a stabilised 48 MP main sensor, joined by a 16 MP ultrawide and a 5 MP close-up lens; video records to 4K at 60 fps. Our camera score of 35/100 is solid for the price class — the main sensor's daylight output still holds against budget phones a third of its original cost.
Battery and charging
The 4,500 mAh battery scores 30/100 on battery life, and 65 W charging scores 46/100 — for 2020 this was near the top of the market, and it still feels quick in 2026.
Verdict
At around $229 used, the 8T is a tinkerer's and second-phone classic: 120 Hz, fast charging, and a reliable main camera at impulse-money pricing. Ended updates and no IP rating are the reasons it costs what it costs. The OnePlus 8 Pro adds the telephoto, IP68, and wireless charging nearby in price; the OnePlus 10 Pro is the newer body of the family.
