The OnePlus 12 is the 2023 flagship that set the battery-and-charging template its successors still follow: a 5,400 mAh cell with 100 W wired charging, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, and a 6.82-inch 120 Hz OLED. It launched at $799 for the 12/256 GB configuration — under-cutting every rival at the spec level — and the 16/512 GB tier now trades used for around $440, one of the better hardware-per-dollar deals in the catalog.

Display and design

The 6.82-inch OLED peaks at 1,600 nits with 120 Hz and curved edges, scoring 72/100 on our screen-quality axis. At 220 g with a compactness score of 69/100 it is a big phone with a big-battery payoff. Protection is IP65 — splash and jet resistant, a step below the IP68 of most flagships.

Software support is the limitation — four years of updates from 2023 leaves about one year remaining, so platform longevity is not this phone's argument.

For longer software life the OnePlus 13 adds two more years, a bigger 6,000 mAh cell, and IP69 at a higher used price; for the same formula at even lower cost, the OnePlus 11 remains available.
