The Nothing Phone (3a) Lite is the entry point to the 2025 lineup at $249 new for 8/128: the same 6.77-inch 120 Hz AMOLED as its siblings, a 5,000 mAh battery, and the Dimensity 7300 under a familiar transparent back. The 49/100 everyday score is unambiguous about the tier — this is a communication-and-media phone — but the screen and software feel a class above the price.

Display and design

The 6.77-inch AMOLED at 120 Hz and 1,300 nits scores 68/100 — identical panel DNA to the standard (3a), which is the single strongest argument for this phone. The design carries over too, including Glyph lighting in reduced form. At 199 g with IP54 splash resistance, the concessions are visible exactly where the price says they will be.

Performance

The Dimensity 7300 scores 49/100 everyday and 15/100 gaming. Browsing, messaging, and streaming are handled without drama; demanding games are not its language. Nothing OS keeps the interface feeling quicker than the silicon alone would suggest — there is almost nothing to load beyond what you install.

Camera

A 50 MP stabilized main sensor is joined by an 8 MP ultrawide and a 2 MP macro placeholder, recording 4K30. The 27/100 score is fair: daylight output from the main camera exceeds the price; everything beyond it — low light, zoom, the secondary lenses — is filler in the practical sense.

The (3a) Lite sells a tier-above screen and software at a bottom-shelf price and asks, in exchange, that you want nothing demanding from the processor or the cameras after dark. Against its own sibling, the Phone (3a) for $80 more buys a meaningfully faster chip, better sealing, and a real ultrawide — the better long-term buy if the budget stretches. If it does not, this is among the most coherent $249 phones available.
