Display and design

The 7.6-inch 120 Hz inner panel at 1,200 nits and the unusually wide 5.8-inch cover screen are the design thesis — the Fold closes into a normal-ish phone and opens into a squat tablet, ideal for split-screen. At 283 g and IPX8 water sealing (no dust rating), it is a dense, squat brick that sits flat when closed. The hinge is the best of the first foldable generation.

Performance

Tensor G2 delivers Google's priorities — on-device speech, photography, call screening — rather than benchmark muscle: gaming 24/100 is midrange-adjacent, everyday 81/100 is smooth where Google's software is doing the work. Two major OS updates remain on the promised runway.

For the current state of the art, later book-style folds trade up in thinness and battery; nothing else matches this price.
