The Asus ROG Phone 6 is a 2022 gaming flagship on the Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1, with a 6.78-inch 165 Hz OLED, a 6000 mAh battery and a 239-gram body built around sustained performance: shoulder triggers, a huge vapor chamber and IPX4 splash resistance. Display and design

The 6.78-inch OLED refreshes at 165 Hz with an 830-nit peak, and in landscape gaming the extra frames over 120 Hz panels are genuinely visible in fast genres. The 239-gram weight and thick body are the price of the cooling hardware, and the IPX4 rating covers splashes rather than submersion. Landscape-first ergonomics, with the USB-C port on the side for charging while playing, define the design.

Performance

The Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 earns an everyday axis of 90 and a gaming axis of 32 in our model, and in 2022 it was the efficiency correction its generation needed: long sessions hold high frame rates where the standard 8 Gen 1 throttled. The ROG Phone 6 is the value entry into serious mobile gaming: near $430 used you get a 165 Hz panel, a 6000 mAh cell and cooling that mainstream flagships still do not match, at the cost of bulk and a mediocre camera.
