Dell Inspiron 3521 review

A $109 Record With a Mid-Band Value Score

The Dell Inspiron 3521 (2013) pairs a Pentium 2127U with a Radeon HD 7670M and 8 GB of memory, listed at $109. Its graphics reading of 45.85 lifts gaming to 71 high-band — the era placement — and its value score of 50.35 mid-band is the practical argument for the record.

Where it holds up

Graphics is the flagged strength at 45.85, 68% above the class median, and the 7670M entry at least names a real dGPU of its day. Value reads 50.35 mid-band — at $109, the sheet treats the price as fair. Gaming posts 71, the standard placement for this era's hardware on the scale, and photo design 29. The named Radeon HD 7670M also makes this one of the few records in the batch where the 45.85 graphics reading maps to an actual discrete GPU rather than integrated silicon.

Where it falls short

CPU performance is the flagged weakness: 8.31 against a class median of 58.99, basic-tier. Performance overall reads 22.62 in the low band, office 17.69, modeling 23, engineering CAD 19 — all low. Reliability posts 14 against a median of 54, portability reads 32.5, and the 8 GB of memory is 75% below the class median. Thirteen years of age surface in every axis except the price tag.

Price and depreciation

The listing price is $109. No depreciation baseline is recorded, so no dollar curve is projected; the modeled rate for its cohort is 6.76% per year — gentle, as the value has little left to lose.

Alternatives to consider

The Inspiron 3558 (2015) in this batch costs $42 more for two newer years and verified minimum-bar passes in three games. The Inspiron 15 N5010 (2010) at $90 is the even-cheaper era-mate.

Bottom line

Fairly priced for the class. At $109 the value axis signs off; the CPU and reliability readings set the expectations that come with it.
