Lenovo Legion Tower 5i review: specs, options & used prices

What this machine is

The Lenovo Legion Tower 5i is a gaming desktop, and on the used market it is one of the straightforward ways to get a complete, serviceable computer for a modest sum.

Gaming desktops are defined by their graphics card first and everything else second — which is exactly what varies most between used listings of the same model line.

Across 8 tracked listings, the median asking price is $750.

Configurations you will actually see

The CPU options we track for the Legion Tower 5i are the Core i5-10400, Core i5-11400 and Core i7-12700. Intel Core options span the 10th to 12th generations. From the 8th generation on, these generally meet Windows 11 requirements.

Memory options run from 8 GB to 16 GB (8 GB, 16 GB). 8 GB is workable for one person; 16 GB is the comfortable setting for typical office and home use.

Solid-state storage options include 256GB SSD.

Hard-disk listings (1TB HDD) also exist — an SSD remains the single most noticeable upgrade on this class of machine.

Drive options without a clear type in the listing (1TB) should be verified with the seller.

Gaming use

On a gaming desktop the graphics card is the machine, and used listings of the Legion Tower 5i vary widely in exactly that component. The configuration options we track cover CPU, memory and storage only — verify the exact GPU and its VRAM in each listing before comparing prices.

Who it fits

It fits 1080p-class gaming at used prices, where verifying the exact GPU in the listing matters more than for office machines.

Full specifications, current options and tracked prices live on its spec sheet; the desktop catalog and the Lenovo desktops page help place it among the alternatives.

Verdict

The Legion Tower 5i is not exciting, and that is the point: a known quantity with a known configuration ladder.

Buy it when you need a cheap, repairable machine for its class of work, and verify the configuration before paying — RAM and storage vary widely between listings. Tracked prices span $400 to $1,400, and most of that spread is configuration, not condition.

Our composite LB Score currently sits at 23/100 — a score that mostly reflects the platform age — use it to compare like with like, not against modern hardware.
